Why Garmin Watch "Motocross" Activities May Not Be Syncing to LITPro
Garmin has recently implemented policy changes that affect the compatibility between Garmin watches and LITPro when using the "Motocross" activity type that now comes on some higher-end Garmin watches. This is a recent policy change by Garmin and is out of our direct control although we have begun to try and work with Garmin to reverse the change. If you are using this activity type and notice that the activity is showing in the Garmin app, but not in the LITPro app, then you are affected by this Garmin policy change. See below for the short-term workaround.
Temporary Workaround
Unfortunately for any past sessions affected by this are not possible to recover - but we can give you guidance for any sessions going forward. Also note that this is temporary as we are trying to work with Garmin to eliminate this confusing policy change.
- Use any other outdoor activity that records your location. The "Outdoor Cycling" activity type is a great option, but you can use outdoor running, or hiking or any other activity type where location is tracked. You can also create a custom activity type that records your location, and you can even call it "Motocross" if you wish, just don't confuse it with the Garmin provided motocross activity type.
- Update Software: Ensure that both your Garmin watch and the LITPro app are running the latest software versions. Outdated software may contribute to compatibility issues.
- Check Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is crucial for successful data synchronization. Verify that your device is connected to a reliable Wi-Fi or cellular network.
- Contact Customer Service: If you have followed these steps and still experience syncing issues, it is advisable to reach out to LITPro's customer service. They can provide personalized assistance and guidance to resolve the problem.
