After you finish syncing a session from a GPS device, you'll be presented with a screen for selecting an existing track config, if one already exists, or given the option to create a new one if none exist. If you just finished a sync, jump to step 7 below.
Getting Started (from a past sync)
1. Open LITPro:
- Make sure you have the LITPro app installed on your device and are logged in.
2. Access the Main Screen:
- Launch the LITPro app and navigate to the main screen.
3. Tap "Add Session":
- At the bottom of the main screen, you'll find a button labeled "Add Session." Tap on this button to proceed.
4. Tap "Past Syncs":
- After tapping "Add Session," you will be directed to a new screen. Look for the "Past Syncs" option, typically located next to the name of the device you are using.
5. Choose the Sync to Change:
- Tap on the sync you want to change from the list of past syncs. This will open up the details of the selected sync session.
6. Tap the "Change" Button:
- On the sync session details screen, you will see a "Change" button. Tap on it to start the process of changing the track configuration.
When to Create a New Circuit Track Configuration
You should create a new circuit track configuration when:
- No existing track configuration matches the current layout. You'll know this is the case if you're only presented with the QUICK-Session track config option, which is auto-generated.
- Your GPS accuracy is high. If your GPS data looks inaccurate, use the QUICK-Session auto-generated track config type instead.
You should avoid creating a new circuit track configuration when:
- Your GPS device isn't working well (you're seeing highly inaccurate GPS data).
- The track layout hasn't changed. Creating a new track config every time you ride the same track creates a confusing situation for other riders, who then see many track config options in the app, and makes it harder for anyone you ride with to use the same track config as you and benefit from lap comparison.
7. Create a New Circuit Track Configuration:
- After tapping "Change," LITPro will show you options to modify the track configuration.
- If you have previously created track configurations, you can select one from the list of existing configurations. If multiple options exist, tap "Next" to cycle through them.
- To create a new track configuration, tap the option to create a new one, then follow the on-screen prompts to enter details like the track name, start/finish line, and other relevant information.
8. Choose a Suitable Start/Finish Line Location:
- It's important to select a good start/finish line location. It should be in a straight-away, away from a corner to ensure accurate timing.
9. More on placing Start/Finish Line Gates or Segment Gates:
- When placing any kind of gate (start line gate, finish line gate, or segment gates) you should try and place them some distance away from corners. The app will automatically warn you if you are placing the gates too close to corners. If you can't find locations to place gates where you don't get warnings then you are probably trying to create a track configuration for a track that is geographically too small for motocross style riding. When this is the case you can try to use the "Point-to-point" style track configuration.
10. Choose the Auto-Segment Option:
- Unless you have specific segment gates you want to use (for advanced users), it's recommended to choose the auto-segment option. This simplifies the process and provides accurate results.
11. Save the Track Configuration:
- When saving the track configuration, use a descriptive name such as "FoxRaceway Main." If the track changes regularly, consider including a date or version number to keep your configurations organized and up to date.
With LITPro's track configuration customization, you can keep your training and racing data as accurate and relevant as possible, whether you're a beginner or an advanced user.
