Here are the most common reasons you might not be seeing laps in the LITPro app:
1. Not using a supported activity type on your watch
LITPro only looks for data from compatible activity types — other types are disregarded.
Compatible activity types:
- For Polar
- For Garmin
- For Apple Watch, select outdoor workout
2. GPS data quality is too poor for the system to detect laps
GPS watches can produce poor-quality data for a variety of reasons — for example, where the watch is worn (on your wrist), or environmental factors like tree canopy or mountains that limit the watch's view of the sky. If you're consistently getting poor GPS quality, try mounting the watch on your handlebars. In some cases, the best option is to switch to a dedicated GPS receiver, like a RaceBox device.
3. LITPro uses auto-lap detection with GPS watches
To detect laps reliably, LITPro looks for motocross-style laps that meet these criteria:
- You reach at least 10 mph (16 kph) on every lap
- Your fastest lap in the session is more than 25 seconds and less than 8 minutes (circuit-style track)
- You have a minimum straight-line distance of 15 feet
4. Polar or Garmin data is occasionally delayed due to outages or issues on their end
When this happens, we don't have a direct way to resolve it — we have to wait until the issue is fixed on their end to restore service in the LITPro app. We don't typically see data loss, and they're usually prompt about getting caught up.
